Sabine was last seen during the series finale of Star Wars: Rebels. Following a climactic battle with the Empire, the young Jedi Ezra Bridger disappeared whilst saving his crew. Shortly thereafter, Wren and Ahsoka launched a search for their missing friend. When Rosario Dawson debuted as Ahsoka during season two of The Mandalorian in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn, many fans theorized this search would soon make its way to the live-action medium. Now, it appears those fans were correct and Ahsoka will feature the search for Ezra Bridger.
Sabine joins the aforementioned Ezra and Grand Admiral Thrawn as characters Lucasfilm is looking to transition from animation to live-action. Previously, rumors pointed to Aladdin star Mena Massoud portraying Ezra in the near future. Additionally, Hera Syndulla is also rumored to take the place of Cara Dune in the Rangers Of The New Republic Disney+ series following actress Gina Carano‘s slew of anti-Semitic and transphobic social media posts.
