Disney+, the world’s hottest streaming service, is working to fill up their platform with more original content. Luckily, they own some of the worlds biggest IPs, with two of the most notable being Star Wars and Marvel. With that being said, a new rumor claims that more content from a galaxy far, far way is on the way in the form of a Star Wars Rebels sequel series,
Disney produced Star Wars Rebels following their purchase of Lucasfilm. The animated series, along with Clone Wars, were available at Disney+’s launch, giving fans the opportunity to catch up with the animated world of Star Wars. Now, according to a new rumor from Kessel Run Transmission, Disney+ is working on a sequel series to Star Wars Rebels.
The reports claims that the series will focus on Ashoka and Sabine on their search for Ezra. With rumors floating around that Dave Filoni is focusing on a new animated Star Wars series for Disney+, it would make sense for him to work on a continuation of Rebels.
Disney+ is suffering a tad right now, as many subscribers don’t feel the need to keep their subscription after the conclusion of The Mandolorian’s first season. Though this hasn’t been outright confirmed by Disney, many of their new original series are seeing their release dates moved up to fill their users need for content.
It would make sense for Disney to try and fill their streaming service with Star Wars following the success of The Mandalorian and the fam reception to the continuation of Clone Wars. A sequel series to Rebels would keep fans excitement high while also providing parents with another animated option for their children.
