Lakeith Stanfield To Star In Apple TV’s ‘The Changeling’ Series Adaptation
With memorable roles in film and TV shows, LaKeith Stanfield appears to be one of the most highly sought-after actors in the game today. With films with Tiffany Haddish and Saoirse Ronan already in various stages of development, the actor continues to add to his already busy schedule. As first reported by Deadline, Stanfield will next lead the cast for a new drama series in the works for Apple TV+.
The series, titled The Changeling, is based on author Victor LaValle’s best-selling book of the same name. Lakeith Stanfield will star in the series with Cruella scribe Kelly Marcel penning the script. Additionally, Queen & Slim director Melina Matsoukas is on board to helm.
The Changeling is billed as a fairytale for grown-ups. The story follows its main character Apollo, portrayed by Stanfield in the upcoming adaptation. Set in New York City, Apollos works as a bookseller to provide for his wife Emma and their newborn Brian. Searching high and low and rare first editions of books, Apollos discovers a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird inscribed by Harper Lee himself. However, Apollo and Emma’s life suddenly turns nightmarish due to circumstances beyond their control.
Lakeith Stanfield recently earned an Oscar nod for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah. Outside of that, the versatile performer continues to prove his range thanks to memorable roles in Knives Out, The Photograph, and Uncut Gems. Up next, Stanfield joins Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba in Netflix’s The Harder They Fall. Additionally, the actor will appear in the next two seasons of Atlanta opposite Brian Tyree Henry and Donald Glover.
