While it has not been confirmed by Marvel, many fans have speculated that Wright’s Shuri will take up the mantle of Black Panther following the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman. In the comics her character has at times taken on the role but for now it remains to be seen if the MCU will take a similar route.
The film features returning stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett. Additionally, Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta has joined the movie and is rumored to portray Namor.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release on May 6, 2022.
