Lupita Nyong’o & Natalie Portman To Star In ‘Lady In The Lake’ Limited Series For Apple TV+

After a little over a year, Apple TV+ has solidified itself as a streaming service with a wealth of quality original films and TV series. Thanks to the success of shows like Servant and Ted Lasso paired with films like Wolfwalkers and Palmer, Apple is incessantly bolstering its catalog. Up next, the streamer will produce a series adaptation of the popular 2019 novel Lady in the Lake. As first reported by Deadline, Lupita Nyong’o and Natalie Portman will co-star in the series.
Written by Laura Lippman, Lady in the Lake takes place in 1960s Baltimore. Following a tragic and unsolved murder, an inquisitive mother named Maddie Schwarts, portrayed by Portman, decides to dedicate her life to investigative journalism. However, her new lease on life places her on a collision course with a struggling mother with a passion to advance the progressive Black agenda named Cleo Sherwood, portrayed by Nyong’o.

Additionally, her roles in the Star Wars and Black Panther franchises have made her a household name. Up next, Nyong’o will appear in the action-spy film The 355 opposite Jessica Chastain and Penélope Cruz.
