Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa Will Not Be Recast In ‘Black Panther 2’

During Disney’s Investor Day on Thursday, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa will not be recast in future MCU projects.
Boseman tragically passed away earlier this year after a battle with colon cancer. The actor brought T’Challa/Black Panther to life in four MCU, movies, with his last appearance coming in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. However, it was his solo outing, Black Panther, that cemented Boseman as one of the most influential superheroes of the modern-day.

Following his passing, fans have wondered how Marvel would go about with their upcoming sequel, Black Panther II. It was revealed, prior to his death, the film was going to focus on T’Challa and his continuing adventures in Wakanda. Feige has now said that they have no plans on recasting the role and that the film will instead shift focus to other characters in Wakanda and continue their journeys. It’s unclear at this point if Chadwick’s character will be written out of the film.
