Awards season is back. The73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will honor the best in U.S. prime time television programming from June 1, 2020, until May 31, 2021, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
This year, some exciting and beloved fan favorites like The Mandalorian and Wandavision are getting recognized. This feat solidifies Disney+ as a dominant contender in the streaming wars. Additionally, breakout comedies and dramas like Ted Lasso and The Queen’s Gambit shine bright in their categories. Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s 2021 continues to bring success with Hamilton bringing in multiple nominations in various acting categories as well. Finally, Mj Rodriguez makes Emmy history as the first trans person nominated in a lead acting category for Pose.
