Four of the most recognizable names in Hollywood will soon unite for an upcoming romantic comedy. As first reported by Deadline, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Blake Lively will star alongside legendary actors Diane Keaton and Richard Gere for the upcoming picture The Making Of.
Per the initial report, the four multi-talented actors will play a pair of couples in the film. Gere and Keaton will play long-married filmmakers who look to create a film focusing on the story of their love life. They cast two overemotional actors, played by Miranda and Lively, to play their younger selves in the semi-biographical movie. However, just before cameras begin to roll, the true, hidden story of the filmmakers’ marriage begins to come to light. While Gere and Keaton’s characters want to create a big, blockbuster hit, Lively and Miranda’s characters hope to tell the real tale. Next, the four main players will need to collaborate to weight facts and fiction as personal and professional lives clash.
The upcoming feature hails from Legends of the Fall director Ed Zwick, who will direct with a self-penned script. The Golden Globe-nominated filmmaker will produce the film as well alongside his longtime collaborator Marshall Herskovitz (I Am Sam). Endeavor Content will reportedly present the film at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
Miranda recently assisted Disney+ break streaming records with the release Hamilton. Additionally, the composer will next direct Netflix’s Tick, Tick… Boom! and star in season two of HBO’s His Dark Materials. Meanwhile, Blake Lively last appeared on the big screen with Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown in The Rhythm Section. Moreover, Richard Gere last starred in the BBC series MotherFatherSon while the iconic Diane Keaton will star in Love, Weddings & Other Disasters alongside Jeremy Irons.
