‘Loki’ Creator Michael Waldron To Write Kevin Feige’s ‘Star Wars’ Movie

In the fall of 2019, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, was actively developing his very own Star Wars film. However, details on this mystery film have been scarce. Now, as first reported by Deadline, it appears the film is finally beginning to take shape with the head writer and creator on the upcoming Disney+ series Loki, Michael Waldron, on-board to pen the screenplay.
In addition to writing the Feige-produced Star Wars film, Waldron wrote the script for the upcoming Doctor Strange 2. The collaboration has apparently made Waldron a commodity for Disney. Per the initial report, the studio signed the screenwriter to an unprecedented overall deal. While little is known of his upcoming Marvel projects, they have clearly earned him the faith of executives at Marvel and Lucasfilm.

In addition to this work on Loki and the Doctor Strange sequel, Waldron earned an Emmy for his work as a writer and producer on season 4 of Rick and Morty. The writer also penned eight episodes of the professional wrestling drama Heels, starring Stephen Amell, in the works at Starz.
Kevin Feige is the primary creator and producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The films he has produced have a combined worldwide box office gross of over $26.8 billion. In fact, four of the Marvel films he has produced are some of the highest-grossing films in cinematic history. The Marvel Entertainment Chief Creative Officer recently appeared during the virtual Disney Investor’s Day event to reveal a slew of new films and TV shows in the works including a Secret Invasion series and Fantastic Four reboot.
