‘Doctor Strange 2’ Taps ‘Loki’ Writer Michael Waldron To Rework Script

Earlier this week, the internet went into a state of shock and awe when news that Spider-Man (2002) director Sam Raimi was in talks to direct the Doctor Strange sequel. However, as first reported by THR, more changes are on the way for the production.
Per the initial report, Michael Waldron, the man behind the upcoming Loki Disney+ series, is set to rework the current script. Previously, Miller’s Girl scribe Jade Bartlett signed on to pen the screenplay. However, it is currently unknown whether or not she will be moving forward with the project.

In addition to Loki, Waldron is best known for his work on the popular animated series Rick & Morty.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness seems to be going through the wringer as of late. Last month, Scott Derrickson parted ways with Marvel Studios, leaving the film without a director. However, numerous reports of a variety of Marvel characters appearing the film have surfaced. Among them, Clea, Brother Voodoo, America Chavez and the returning Mordo.
Despite the confusion fans currently feel, the Doctor Strange sequel remains on track for its May 2021 release date. Additionally, the film will connect directly with the Disney+ series WandaVision.
