Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Developing New ‘Star Wars’ Film

Kevin Feige will be taking the plunge into a galaxy far, far away. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Marvel Studios architect pitched a new Star Wars film to Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy.
THR’s sources claim that Feige has discussed an entry into the Star Wars universe in a late-summer meeting with Kennedy and studio co-chairmen Alan Horn. Horn had this to say about the news:
“We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”
The Marvel executive has expressed his passion for the franchise in the past, so some see this as a prelude to a more significant role within Lucasfilm. Kennedy will remain in charge of the studio with no change planned at this time.

Another source tells THR that Feige has told a notable actor that there is a specific role he would like that person to play when and if he makes the movie.
Over the past 10 years, Feige has produced 4 of the highest-grossing films of all time, including this year’s Avengers: Endgame, so it is no surprise Disney would like him to become involved in another franchise.
