Earlier this week, Warner Bros officially delayed films currently a part of its DCEU slate. While The Batman and The Flash secured new dates, the highly anticipated Black Adam currently has no planned release window. However, despite the film’s long road to production, it appears casting and development continue to hold strong. A new rumor from The Illuminerdi suggests The Rookie star, Sarah Shahi, is in talks to join the cast of Black Adam as the female lead.
Per the initial report, Shahi has been offered the role of Isis. Fans familiar with the DC character are well aware that the hero appears in various mediums in a number of forms. Modeled closely after the main character of the CBS series The Secrets of Isis, Isis is a superhero as well as a separate Egyptian goddess in the DC Universe. A newer incarnation of the character was introduced in 2006 as a female counterpart and love interest to Black Adam. The powerful goddess has appeared in a bevy of DC projects including a variation taken on by Lois Lane in Smallville. Additionally, a new version of the character named Zari Tomaz and portrayed by Tala Ashe serves as a main character in The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow.
