‘Black Adam’: Aldis Hodge In Talks To Play Hawkman

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam may have found its Hawkman. According to The Wrap, Aldis Hodge is in talks to play the iconic hero.
Hawkman first appeared in Flash Comics #1 (1940). Also known as Carter Hall, the hero is a reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu. Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Dennis Neville, Hawkman has been a mainstay of the DC universe and was a founding member of the Justice Society of America. He works closely with his partner Hawkgirl. Moreover, Michael Shanks (Saving Hope) played the role in Smallville, and Falk Hentschel (White House Down) later donned the cowl in The CW’s Arrowverse.

Hodge is best known for his work on TNT’s Leverage and WGN’s Underground. He has also appeared in Straight Outta Compton, Hidden Figures, and The Invisible Man. Most recently, he starred in Amazon Prime Studios’ One Night in Miami.
If Hodge officially signs on to star in the film, he will join actor Noah Centineo who will play Atom Smasher. The film is yet to cast the other members of the Justice Society of America, Doctor Fate, and Cyclone.
