Noah Centineo Cast As Atom Smasher In Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’

DC is finally assembling the cast of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Noah Centineo has been cast as Atom Smasher.
Created by Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway, Albert Rothstein first appeared in 1983’s All-Star Squadron #25. The godson of the Golden Age Atom, Albert acquired metahuman powers that gave him super strength and the ability to control his molecular structure from his grandfather, the supervillain Cyclotron. Using his powers for good, Atom Smasher became a hero and eventually went on to join the newly reunited Justice Society of America.
In March, a report claimed that Black Adam would feature two different versions of the Justice Society of America. The original team comprised of heroes like Hawkman & Hawkgirl, Doctor Fate, Jay Garrick, and Alan Scott would appear in the past while the new team would be used in the present day. Centineo’s Atom Smasher will be a member of the second version of the Justice Society of America, alongside the reincarnated forms of Hawkman & Hawkgirl, Doctor Fate, and Cyclone.

Black Adam is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who helmed Johnson’s forthcoming Jungle Cruise. Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. is producing along with Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia via their Seven Bucks Productions.
