Wesley Snipes & Tiffany Haddish To Star In Indie Comedy ‘Back On The Strip’

A new comedy titled Back on the Strip will serve as the first film for the newly launched Luminosity Entertainment production studio. As first reported by Deadline, an all-star lineup, including Wesley Snipes, Tiffany Haddish, and JB Smoove, will make up the film’s cast.
Additionally, the cast will feature the likes of Faizon Love, Bill Bellamy, Gary Owen, Raigan Harris, and Spence Moore. Back on the Strip marks the theatrical directorial debut of Chris Spencer, the executive producer, and writer of the hit series Grown-ish. Luminosity will finance, produce and distribute the picture domestically as well as handle international sales. Moreover, Haddish and Snipes will executive produce the film in addition to their starring roles.
The film follows a young man named Merlin, portrayed by Spence Moore. After moving to Las Vegas to pursue his dreams of becoming a magician, a costume malfunction occurs. After his private parts are exposed, Merlin is recruited to become the frontman of a famous male revue group and goes on a journey to find success and get back the girl of his dreams. In a statement, director Chris Spencer reveals his excitement to begin production on the comedy.

“We have assembled an amazing cast with the industry’s greatest comedic talent. It is a privilege to direct this film. One I co-wrote that has a cast of this caliber for my first feature film,” said Spencer.
Snipes is considered an icon on the big screen thanks to memorable roles in Blade and U.S. Marshals. The legendary actor recently starred alongside Eddie Murphy in Dolemite Is My Name and Coming 2 America. Up next, Snipes joins Kevin Hart in a new Netflix series titled True Story. Meanwhile, Following breakout roles in comedies like Girl’s Trip, Night School, and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, Tiffany Haddish’s stock continues to rise. Additionally, Haddish will star in Disney’s upcoming Haunted Mansion reimagining alongside Lakeith Stanfield and Owen Wilson.
