‘Euphoria’ Star Quintessa Swindell To Portray Cyclone In Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’

One of the most anticipated films in the upcoming DCEU film slate is the Dwayne Johnson-led Black Adam. Following a promise that the DC Universe would never be the same at August’s DC FanDome event, the film added One Night in Miami star Aldis Hodge to its boisterous cast. Now, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the film will add the up and coming star of Euphoria Quintessa Swindell in the role of Maxine Hunkel, aka Cyclone.
Created by Mark Waid, Geoff Jones, Alex Ross, and Dale Eaglesham, Maxine Hunkel was first introduced in 2006’s Justice Society of America #1. An alternate version appeared as Red Tornado in 1996’s Kingdom Come #2. Hunkel is the granddaughter of the original Red Tornado, Abigail “Ma” Hunkel, who was an honorary member of the JSA. After the young heroine was kidnapped by T.O. Morrow, she discovered she had aerokinetic powers and went on to join the JSA, working alongside the heroes she once idolized.
