‘Hawkeye’ Rounds Out Its Cast With Six New Additions Including Vera Farmiga & Tony Dalton

This week, Marvel Studios took a huge step forward with the production of its upcoming slate of Disney+ shows. MCU fans got their first glimpse of Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld working on the set of Hawkeye. Additionally, reports that Black Widow star Florence Pugh is joining the cast surfaced as well. Next, as first reported by Variety, the series continues to bolster its cast with a slew of new additions, as well as confirmations of rumored Marvel characters appearing.
First, The Conjuring star Vera Farmiga will join the show as Eleanor Bishop, the mother of Kate Bishop (Steinfeld). Farmiga is an accomplished actress with multiple award nominations thanks to her roles in films like Up in the Air, Bates Motel, and When They See Us. Coincidentally, Eleanor has a history with the Marvel villain Madame Masque, leading many to believe she will embody that role in the series. Next, Tony Dalton will portray will play Jack Duquesne, a modern spin on the Marvel character Jacques Duquesne AKA Swordsman. Duquesne is a longtime mentor of Renner’s Clint Barton and has appeared as both friend and foe of the Avengers. Dalton adds a unique flair to the MCU with experience in a bevy of telenovelas. Dalton currently portrays cartel boss Lalo Salamanca in AMC’s Better Call Saul.

Additionally, Irish actor Fra Fee will appear in the show as Kazimierz Kazimierczak AKA the mercenary villain Clown. Rumors of the Clown’s appearances surfaced months ago but this serves as an official confirmation of his inclusion. Fra Fee is best known for playing Courfeyrac in Tom Hooper‘s film adaptation of Les Misérables. He last appeared alongside Holliday Grainger in the 2019 film Animals. Moreover, newcomer Alaqua Cox will portray Echo, another character at the center of recent rumors. Echo is a Native American martial artist and one of the few deaf Marvel heroes. Finally, Fargo star Zahn McClarnon is on-board to portray Echo’s father William Lopez.
The upcoming series will follow Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton following the events of Avengers: Endgame. Barton will train Steinfeld’s iteration of Hawkeye as well as navigate the new post-Avengers world. Hawkeye joins other Marvel shows in various stages of development like She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight.
