‘Hawkeye’ Disney+ Series Potentially Casting The Clown

It appears the long-awaited Hawkeye series in development at Disney+ is finally beginning to take shape. Last week, it was reported that Rhys Thomas and Bert and Bertie will direct multiple episodes of the upcoming series. Now, a new report from The Illuminerdi suggests a particularly obscure villain may be making an appearance in the show.
Per the initial report, a casting call has gone out for a character named Arek. He is a 20-30-year-old male and will hail from an Eastern European country. Moreover, he will apparently appear in most of the series’ planned six episodes. While this could easily be a character from the recurring MCU country of Sokovia or perhaps Doctor Doom’s Latveria, longtime Marvel fans will remember a character from Eastern Europe who frequently tangles with Hawkeye.

Kazimierz Kazimierczak is a young Polish man also known as The Clown. First appearing in the pages of Marvel Comics in Hawkeye Vol. 4 #8 in 2013, The Clown is a merciless assassin who has attempted to take the archer down on a number of occasions. A lifetime of loss and heartbreak lead The Clown to a life of crime and his allies often include the likes of Kingpin and The Owl.
The upcoming series will star Jeremy Renner as the Avenger Clint Barton. Hawkeye will reportedly feature Barton training a new hero named Kate Bishop. Currently, Marvel has not cast an actress in that role; however, Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld was previously in talks. Jonathon Igla who has previously worked on Mad Men is writing the series.
Hawkeye is part of the initial slate of shows Marvel Studios is launching on Disney+. The original plan was for them to start rolling out this fall, but the spread of COVID-19 caused work on some to be delayed. As of now, the plan is for WandaVision and Loki to premiere in Spring 2021, then Hawkeye. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s release date is currently unknown.
What do you think of the casting listing? Is it for The Clown or someone else? What do you want to see happen in the show? Let us know in the comments below!
Hawkeye will hopefully begin streaming on Disney+ in 2021.
