Marvel Studios Potentially Casting Echo For Disney+ Series

It appears Disney+ is in the process of casting a deaf actress for an upcoming project. Based on the casting breakdown, it seems likely the character could be Echo from Marvel Comics.
Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Maya Lopez first appeared in 1999’s Daredevil #9. Often portrayed as a supporting character of Daredevil, Echo has previously gone by the alias Ronin. Echo is a skilled martial artist, a highly adept gymnast, and is one of the few deaf comic characters.
The call sheet revealed that Sarah Finn, who has previously worked on Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, and The Mandalorian, is casting an actress to play a leading role in an upcoming Disney+ series. The breakdown described the character as a deaf Native American or Latinx female in their 20s. They are also listed as being independent, athletic, and bright.

While this does not outright state this is a Marvel Studios production, sources such as Charles Murphy have pointed out it would make sense for this to be Echo as this perfectly describes the character of Maya Lopez. And, while Sarah Finn has previously worked on The Mandalorian, she has been involved with casting for several Marvel projects.
Now assuming this role is for Echo, this raises the question of where she could be popping up. The most likely answer is in the Hawkeye series. In the comics, Maya once went by the name Ronin, a persona Clint Barton adopted in Avengers: Endgame. This shared identity could provide for some interesting dynamics in the series.
