Offset Joins Pete Davidson & O’Shea Jackson Jr. In ‘American Sole’

One-third of the multi-platinum selling hip hop group Migos is set to make his feature film debut. As first reported by Deadline, Offset, real name Kiari Cephus, will join previously announced stars Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson Jr. in STX Entertainment’s American Sole.
Offset, alongside his fellow Migos, has continuously churned out hit after hit since debuting in 2013. Since then, all three have launched successful solo careers as well. Notable, Offset released his first solo platinum single “Ric Flair Drip” and made several appearances alongside the 16-time World Champion. Moreover, Offset is married to another highly successful musician, Cardi B, who has also transitioned to acting with roles in Hustlers and the upcoming F9.
In a statement accompanying the initial report, Offset expresses his excitement to make his feature film debut.
“This is my first film as an actor. After doing NCIS, I knew I wanted to do more acting. Landing this role in American Sole is dope. Not only do I get to star in the movie, but I get to bring my skills to the table as the curator and executive producer for the soundtrack. I’m bringing my world to the big screen. I hope the world is ready.”

The film will be directed by How To Make It In America creator Ian Edelman. Moreover, the feature will benefit behind the camera from Kevin Hart and NBA star Chris Paul as executive producers. The film will reportedly be a high-stakes dramedy set in the world of after-market sneakers, a fast-growing area in the consistently popular world of streetwear. The plot follows Davidson and Jackson as they attempt to navigate their mountain of college debt. The adventure leads them to the sneaker reselling market to make some quick cash. However, their young business hits a bump in the road as a shady investor quickly turns their dreams into nightmares.
STX Entertainment will finance and produce the picture. Following the overwhelming success of 2019’s Hustlers, the production company continues to tell relatable stories for new audiences to grasp.
