Dave Bautista To Star In ‘Rampage’ Director Brad Peyton’s Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Universe’s Most Wanted’
Dave Bautista’s acting career has skyrocketed thanks to his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since first appearing as Drax in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the 6-time WWE Champion has since appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, Spectre, and Blade Runner 2049. Next, as first reported by Variety, Bautista will team with Rampage director Brad Peyton for a new sci-fi thriller from AGC Studios.
Per the initial report, the film will be titled Universe’s Most Wanted. The film takes place in a small-town which unexpectedly comes into contact with an alien ship carrying the most dangerous criminals in the universe. After a crash collision, the small-town’s sheriff’s son must step up and become a hero while working alongside an intergalactic peacekeeper (Bautista) to seek and destroy the alien criminals. If they cannot find a way to get along, the world just might be lost.
In addition to starring in the film, Bautista will serve as one of the feature’s executive producers. Peyton will direct and produce the film as well. The movie’s concept hails from screenwriters F. Scott Frazier (xXx: Return of Xander Cage) and Jimmy Loweree (Absence).
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to get going on Universe’s Most Wanted,” Peyton said in a statement. “This is the type of fun, mysterious and irreverent adventure we all need right now.”
In addition to his new starring role, Bautista will star alongside Jason Momoa in season two of Apple TV’s See.
