Dave Bautista’s acting career has skyrocketed thanks to his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since first appearing as Drax in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the 6-time WWE Champion has since appeared in Spectre and Blade Runner 2049. However, as first reported by Variety, Bautista is making his way to the small screen in season 2 of the AppleTV+ series See.
The actor’s role is currently unknown. However, Bautista’s intense demeanor and ability to play total tough guys will fit right in alongside series star Jason Mamoa.
See is a drama series set in the not-so-distant future. After a deadly virus wipes out humanity, survivors are rendered blind. Mamoa stars as Baba Voss, the father of twins born after the virus emerged with the mythic ability to see. Additionally, Luke Cage star Alfre Woodard appears as Paris, Baba’s spiritual leader.
In addition to his new TV role, Bautista will star in the upcoming 2020 films My Spy, Dune, and Army of the Dead. Moreover, he is going to be honored among a litany of professional wrestling legends when he is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
