Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, & Jonah Hill Join Jennifer Lawrence In Adam McKay’s ‘Don’t Look Up’

Adam McKay is one of the most prolific filmmakers of his time. The director touts a laundry list of hit films including The Big Short, Vice, and Step Brothers. Up next, McKay will team with Netflix for a new feature film starring the incomparable Jennifer Lawerence and Just Mercy star Rob Morgan. However, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, they will be joined by an absolutely stacked lineup of A-list actors as well.
Per the initial report, Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep will board the film’s ensemble alongside Jonah Hill and Dune star Timothée Chalamet. Moreover, the film will feature an array of talent with Tenet‘s Himesh Patel and Cate Blanchett on-board. Additionally, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry, and Tomer Sisley will also make appearances in the highly anticipated Netflix movie.
Don’t Look Up follows a pair of astronomers, played by Lawerence and DiCaprio. The two team up and embark on a media tour to warn mankind that an asteroid is approaching and will destroy Earth. McKay will write, produce, and direct the picture. Moreover, Kevin Messick (Jack Reacher) is on-board to produce the film. Netflix is reportedly eyeing mid-November to potentially begin production.

In addition to this project, McKay will team with Netflix again for a limited series titled Kings Of America starring Amy Adams. Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio will next star in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Meryl Streep continues to add to her already unreal filmography. Last appearing on the big screen in Little Women, the legend will next star in Ryan Murphy’s musical comedy The Prom. Recently, Jonah Hill has taken a small step back from the constant spotlight of his young career. After producing the critically acclaimed Richard Jewell, Hill departed negotiations for the role of The Riddler in The Batman.
Netflix continues its reign atop the streaming wars with the highest volume of award-winning content. Up next, the service is developing films like Leave The World Behind with Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts and a live-action Cowboy Bebop series.
