Brad Pitt To Star In David Leitch’s ‘Bullet Train’ At Sony Pictures

Earlier this year, Brad Pitt finally earned his first Academy Award for his groundbreaking role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. In addition to his 2019 role in Ad Astra, Pitt continues to carve out an incredible résumé for himself. Next, as first reported by Variety, Pitt will team with Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch for Sony’s upcoming action-thriller Bullet Train.
Based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by best-selling author Kotaro Isaka, Bullet Train will focus on a battle within the mafia and will feature a bevy of snipers at odds with each other on a moving train. The celebrated Japanese novel will reportedly be published in English next year.
The screenplay will be adapted and written by Lights Out producer Zak Olkewicz. Additionally, Leitch will oversee the development of the script with Kotaro Isaka’s management team of Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada on-board to produce.

Filmmaker David Leitch continues to create big-budget action flicks with top-tier actors at the forefront. His recent directorial credits include Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde, John Wick, and Hobbs & Shaw. Moreover, Leitch has previously expressed a desire to work within the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the upcoming feature Blade.
On the other hand, Brad Pitt’s work speaks for itself. Outside of starring roles that earn critical and commercial praise, Pitt works behind the scenes as an executive producer on a bevy of films as well. The Fight Club star currently has a number of films like Kajillionaire and Blonde in varying stages of production.
