John Boyega & Felicity Jones To Star In The Guard Brothers’ ‘Borderland’

Two notable Star Wars actors will join forces for a new upcoming thriller based on true events. As first reported by Deadline, John Boyega and Felicity Jones will star alongside Jack Reynor (Midsommar) and Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) in Borderland, directed by Charles and Thomas Guard.
Per the initial report, the film will focus on an Irish paramilitary named Michael played by Reynor. After Michael witnesses the shooting of his pregnant wife at the hands of a British special forces sergeant named Tempest (Boyega), Michael joins a special mission to wreak havoc on the city of London. However, the film’s story will ultimately see a thrilling chase as Michael stops at nothing to seek revenge for the murder of his wife.
The Guard Brothers will direct the upcoming picture. The filmmaking duo gained fame following the success of the 2009 horror The Uninvited, starring Elizabeth Banks. Moreover, the Guards co-wrote the film’s screenplay alongside Public Enemies scribe Ronan Bennett. The story takes inspiration from a 2007 book titled The Road To Balcombe Street: The IRA Reign of Terror in London by Steven S. Moysey.

We’re thrilled that the script, driven as much by character as it is by plot, has attracted such a first-rate cast.” Furthermore, Rocket Science will produce the upcoming feature with cameras beginning to roll next year.
Recently, Boyega starred in the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Up next, the British actor will star alongside Olivia Cooke in Naked Singularity. Moreover, Jones last appeared in the biographical-thriller The Aeronauts in 2019. Additionally, the Rogue One star will appear in The Last Letter from Your Lover and The Midnight Sky.
