Ben Affleck Back As Batman For DC’s ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’

Over the last decade or so, Ben Affleck has portrayed the iconic Dark Knight on the big screen. Debuting in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it’s clear the actor has a love for the character. Thursday night, fans of the DCEU were surprised and delighted to find out that the Oscar winner will once again don the legendary cowl. Jason Momoa revealed on social media that Affleck is back as Batman and will appear in the upcoming sequel to 2018’s Aquaman.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is directed by James Wan from a screenplay written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Ben Affleck joins a star-studded cast featuring the aforementioned Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman. In 2020, Johnson-McGoldrick revealed that the film will be taking inspiration from the Silver Age comics.
Affleck recently turned heads alongside Tye Sheridan in George Clooney’s The Tender Bar. Additionally, the actor touts recent memorable appearances in films like Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Deep Water. Up next, Affleck will also reprise his role of Batman in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash. Additionally, the newlywed will also collaborate with his longtime partner Matt Damon for a new a new drama surrounding the major, multi-billion dollar partnership between Nike and NBA icon Michael Jordan, which Affleck will also direct.
