Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, & More Join Ryan Reynolds In John Krasinski’s ‘IF’

A few years back, news that John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds were teaming for a new feature hit the web. However, since the initial announcement, no updates on the project have surfaced. Now, thanks to John Krasinski himself, the rest of the cast for the highly anticipated feature is confirmed. According to Krasinski, he and Reynolds will be joined by Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and more.
In addition to the already stacked ensemble, the cast will also feature Minari standout Alan Kim and Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr. Cailey Fleming (Loki) and Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter) round out the film’s cast. In addition to starring, Krasinski is writing the script and will direct the feature as well. Moreover, Krasinski will executive produce alongside Reynolds, and George Dewey (Free Guy).

At this time, plot details are scarce at this time. However, it will be based on Krasinksi’s original idea about a child’s journey to discover their imagination. Additionally, previous rumors suggest the film follows a man who can see and speak with other people’s imaginary friends. His duty is to find those who have been forgotten or discarded and turned evil. Ultimately, he will attempt to save the world from being overrun.
The upcoming project will notably reunite John Krasinski and his co-star from The Office, Steve Carell. Since starring as the eclectic Michael Scott in the series, Carell has gone on to receive critical acclaim for his work in films like The Big Short and Battle of the Sexes. The actor most recently appeared in the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show and will next star in season two of Netflix’s Space Force. Meanwhile, the multi-time Emmy, Golden Globe, and BAFTA winner, Phoebe Waller-Bridge recently contributed to the screenplay of the upcoming James Bond film No Time to Die. Additionally, she will join Mads Mikkelsen and Harrison Ford in James Mangold’s Indiana Jones 5.
