Mads Mikkelsen Joins Harrison Ford & Phoebe Waller-Bridge In ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Directed by Logan‘s James Mangold, the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise continues to build excitement within moviegoers. Last week, Fleabag star and creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge joined the film in a co-starring role. Now, as first revealed by Deadline, multi-time BAFTA nominee Mads Mikkelsen is the next name joining the movie’s ensemble.
Details on Mikkelsen’s character have not been revealed at this time. However, the accomplished thespian is known for embodying villainous roles in films like Doctor Strange, Casino Royale, and Chaos Walking. Both Mikkelsen and Waller-Bridge will join Harrison Ford, who will reprise the titular role in the picture.

Notably, Indiana Jones creator Steven Spielberg won’t be at the helm this time around. However, he will serve in a producing capacity alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall (Eight Below), and Simon Emanuel (Solo: A Star Wars Story). Plot details remain scarce at this time. However, there is speculation online that this will see Ford’s journey as Indy come to an end.
Mads Mikkelson is one of the most celebrated performers in modern cinematic history. His latest film, Another Round, earned nominations at this year’s Golden Globes and Academy Awards ceremonies. After endearing himself to fans with roles in Rogue One and Doctor Strange, Mikkelson will next join the Harry Potter universe, replacing Johnny Depp as Grindelwald in the next Fantastic Beasts film. Recently, Mikkelson last provided voice and motion capture work for the 2019 video game Death Stranding.
