Ana De Armas In Talks To Star In ‘John Wick’ Spinoff ‘Ballerina’

The world of John Wick continues to expand in new and exciting ways. With two more sequels in development and a spinoff series starring Mel Gibson on the way, a previously announced spinoff is beginning to pick up steam as well. As first reported by Deadline, Knives Out star Ana De Armas is in talks to star in the new spinoff feature Ballerina.
Per the initial report, Armas would play a young female assassin seeking revenge against the people who killed her family. Previously, Full Circle Cinema reported that the spinoff was eyeing Tom & Jerry star Chloë Grace Moretz for its leading lady but it appears they are going in another direction.

Len Wiseman (Underworld) is directing the anticipated action- thriller. Additionally, the script hails come from Army Of The Dead scribe, Shay Hatten. Moreover, Lionsgate will handle financing and distribution with Brady Fujikawa (Don’t Breathe 2) and Chelsea Kujawa (Geostorm) serving as the film’s executive producers.
After breakout roles in Blade Runner 2049 and Knives Out, Ana De Armas continues her hyperspeed takeover of the big screen. Recently, the actress shared a screen with Daniel Craig in No Time To Die. Up next, she will star alongside Ben Affleck in Deep Water. Additionally, De Armas will soon star in a fictionalized take on the life of Marilyn Monroe in Blonde. She will also join Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling in Netflix’s The Gray Man.
