‘John Wick: Chapter 5’ Announced, Will Shoot Back-to-Back With Fourth Film

People keep asking if John Wick is back. Yeah, Lionsgate is thinking he’s back… for a whopping two more entries in the series! According to Collider, John Wick: Chapter 5 will be coming a whole lot sooner than moviegoers expected.
Back in May 2019, we reported the news that Lionsgate had greenlit John Wick: Chapter 4 following the large critical and commercial success of John Wick: Chapter 3. Now, during an earnings call, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer outright confirmed the existence of John Wick: Chapter 5, along with the intention to shoot the film back-to-back with Chapter 4. His statement is as follows:
We’re also busy preparing scripts for the next two installments of our John Wick action franchise, with John Wick 4 slated to hit theaters Memorial Day weekend 2022. We hope to shoot both John Wick 4 & 5 back to back when Keanu becomes available early next year.
Keanu Reeves is in high demand, already committed to The Matrix 4 and likely a whole slew of other projects. Likewise, the John Wick franchise is royalty in modern action cinema. Therefore, this decision makes sense from a business perspective.

It’s perhaps even more exciting from a fan’s perspective, opening up all sorts of interesting questions for the project. Will the two films share a common narrative? Will Chad Stahelski be returning to direct Chapter 5? As the story develops, Full Circle will report on any further announcements.
