Kate Hudson Joins The Cast For Rian Johnson’s ‘Knives Out 2’

The ensemble for the highly-anticipated follow-up to Rian Johnson’s Knives Out continues to gain traction as it gets closer to the start of production. Now, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Golden Globe nominee Kate Hudson is the latest actress to join the ensemble.
Hudson will reunite with her Music co-star Leslie Odom Jr. in the cast. Additionally, the duo joins other recent additions to the ensemble Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Monáe, Dave Bautista, and Edward Norton. Daniel Craig is onboard to reprise his role as super sleuth Benoit Blanc. Rian Johnson is writing and will direct the feature with longtime collaborator Ram Bergman returning as executive producer. Earlier this year, Netflix acquired the distribution rights to the Knives Out films in a groundbreaking multi-million dollar deal.

Knives Out is a 2019 mystery film featuring a bevy of twists and turns. Notably, the film features an all-star ensemble including the aforementioned Craig, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Lakeith Stanfield. The film’s plot follows a master detective investigating the death of the patriarch of a wealthy, dysfunctional family. Additionally, the feature grossed $311.4 million worldwide while also receiving a Best Original Screenplay nomination at the 92nd Academy Awards.
Hudson rose to prominence for her performance in the film Almost Famous, for which she won a Golden Globe. Since then, the actress has appeared in popular films and TV programs like Glee, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, You, Me and Dupree, and Kung Fu Panda 3. Morover, Hudson stars in the adaptation of the novel Shriver opposite Michael Shannon.
