Alan Tudyk Joins Disney’s ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ As Mr. Darling

With production finally getting underway this week, the highly-anticipated Peter Pan & Wendy is adding the final pieces to its ensemble cast. According to The DisInsider, Rogue One star Alan Tudyk is joining the cast as Wendy’s father, Mr. Darling. Additionally, he is joined by House of Cards star Molly Parker, who will portray Mrs. Darling.
Previously, reports that Iron Man 3‘s Rebecca Hall was playing Mrs. Darling surfaced. However, it appears the actress has passed on the role after mulling it over. Tudyk and Parker will join other notable additions to the cast, including Jude Law as Captain Hook and Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell. Standup comedian Jim Gaffigan will play Captain Hook’s trusted right-hand man, Mr. Smee, as well. Additionally, they all will appear on-screen alongside the previously cast newcomers Alexander Molony & Ever Anderson, who will play Peter Pan and Wendy, respectively.

Peter Pan & Wendy is not the first attempt at creating a live-action version of the classic story. The first adaptation was the cult-classic Hook, which starred Robin Willaims and more recently, Hugh Jackman’s Pan. David Lowery, who directed Pete’s Dragon, is on board to helm the latest adaptation. Lowery co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks (A Ghost Story), with Jim Whitaker (A Wrinkle In Time) producing.
It feels like Alan Tudyk is on his way to being crowned the perennial king of Disney. His animated Disney credits include various voice roles in Wreck-It Ralph, Moana, Ralph Breaks The Internet, Frozen, and Big Hero 6. Recently, the actor lends his voice talents to Raya and the Last Dragon as well. Outside of his work with Disney, Tudyk voices The Joker in HBO Max’s Harley Quinn animated series. Additionally, the actor serves as the main antagonist in Mr. Nobody in DC’s Doom Patrol. Up next, Tudyk will star in Devil May Care and play The Captain in Ark: The Animated Series.
