Samuel L. Jackson To Star In ‘The Last Days Of Ptolemy Grey’ Limited Series For Apple TV+

One of the most celebrated and revered performers in cinematic history is Samuel L. Jackson. From a slew of Quentin Tarantino-directed features to the Star Wars universe, the actor’s legacy continues to build even after 50 years in the business. As first reported by Deadline, the legend will team with Apple TV+ for a new limited series titled The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey.
Jackson will star in the series as well as perform the duties of an executive producer. Based on the acclaimed novel by best-selling author Walter Mosley, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey is a moving novel about age, memory, and family. Jackson will embody the titular role of Ptolemy Grey, a 91-year-old man forgotten by those closest to him. When faced with sinking deeper into his lonesome dementia, Grey gains the opportunity to briefly regain his memories and uses the fleeting moments to solve the mystery of his nephew’s death. Additionally, the story follows the process of coping with one’s past and steps to forgiveness.

The series will premier on the Apple TV+ streaming service with production beginning sometime this spring.

Last week, it was revealed that Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury alongside Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos in the Disney+ event series Secret Invasion. Moreover, Jackson last appeared on the big screen in Spider-Man: Far From Home and Apple TV’s The Banker. Up next, the Academy Award-nominated actor will star in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard alongside Ryan Reynolds and Martin Campbell’s The Asset. The actor is also rumored for another Disney+ series, reprising his character Mace Windu for the Star Wars universe.
