Harrison Ford & Ed Helms To Star In ‘The Adventures Of Burt Squire’ From STX Entertainment

One of the most prolific names in Hollywood will next step into a rare comedic role alongside a veteran of the genre. As first reported by Deadline, cinematic legend Harrison Ford will next team with The Office star Ed Helms for a seafaring comedy based on true events.
The film, titled The Miserable Adventures Of Burt Squire Aboard The Horn High Yo, hails from screenwriter Ben Bolea. The film reportedly follows a troubled family man in the middle of a midlife crisis (Helms). After deciding that his dream is to sail the ocean for vacation, he embarks on the perilous journey. However, he comedically ends up shipwrecked and at the mercy of a charming but unhinged captain (Ford) coming to his rescue.
The project reportedly hopes to go into production early next year. STXFilms is known for recent hits like Hustlers, My Spy, and The Gentlemen. The studio will produce and finance the feature after a competitive bidding war. Moreover, Mickey Liddell (The Grey), Pete Shilaimon (Megan Leavey), and Kim Zubick (Togo) are on-board to produce as well. In a statement accompanying the initial report, Chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group Adam Fogelson expresses excitement for the upcoming comedy.

“We love this story and are looking forward to working with Mickey and this incredible cast. There’s no one better than Ed Helms to play an everyday guy saddled with every comedic misfortune life could throw his way. And Harrison is going to create yet another memorable and iconic character as an unhinged sea captain. Instead of a road-trip comedy, we can’t wait to see these unlikely buddies in this seafaring comedy.”
After more than five decades in the movie business, Harrison Ford shows no signs of slowing down. Last appearing in The Rise of Skywalker and The Call of the Wild, the Blade Runner actor continues to add to his stellar legacy. Up next, Ford will reprise his role of Indiana Jones in the franchise’s upcoming fifth installment. Additionally, Ford will star in the upcoming series The Staircase. Meanwhile, Ed Helms continues a string of comedic roles. Best known for roles in The Hangover series and NBC’s The Office, Helms shines on the big screen. After generally negative reviews to his Netflix film Coffee & Kareem, Helms is set to lead the cast for Peacock’s Rutherford Falls.
