Ice Cube Joins Dave Bautista In Lionsgate’s ‘The Killer’s Game’

The action-comedy genre includes some of the most beloved films of all time and now two actors very familiar with these kinds of projects are teaming up for a new one. As first reported by Deadline, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ice Cube is joining future WWE Hall of Famer Dave Bautista in Lionsgate’s upcoming feature The Killer’s Game.
Ice Cube and Bautista will join Sir Ben Kingsley and Rebel Moon star Sofia Boutella in the cast. Day Shift director JJ Perry will helm the feature with Lionsgate handling financing and distribution. Rand Ravich and Simon Kinberg wrote the original script, however, recent rewrites by James Coyne have since taken place. Dave Bautista will serve as an executive producer vis his Dogbone Entertainment production banner.

Based on Jay Bonansinga’s 1997 novel of the same name, The Killer’s Game follows a veteran assassin named Joe Flood (Bautista). After receiving a diagnosis of a life-threatening illness, Flood orders his own assassination to avoid the pain and suffering. However, upon realizing he was misdiagnosed, Flood must then fight off an army of assassins trying to collect the bounty.
Ice Cube is one of the most well-known performers in both the music and movie industries. Following multiple decades in the business, the “Today Was a Good Day” rapper will voice Superfly in the highly anticipated animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Meanwhile, 6-time WWE Champion Dave Bautista just seemingly wrapped up his MCU career with James Gunn’s wildly celebrated Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3. Up next, he reprises his role of Glossu Rabban in Dune: Part Two.
