Woody Harrelson & Owen Wilson To Star In Crime Thriller ‘Lips Like Sugar’

Two of modern Hollywood’s chillest and most beloved actors are slated to team up for a new thriller currently in development. As first reported by Deadline, Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson will star in a new crime thriller titled Lips Like Sugar.

Grammy-winner Brantley Gutierrez (Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond) will direct the feature with a script by Anthony Tambakis (Bad Boys For Life). In addition to his co-starring role, Harrelson will produce the film alongside Russ Posternak (Burn), Kevin Chinoy (Five), and  Francesca Silvestri (Starlet).

Per the initial report, Lips Like Sugar is loosely based on a true story and will take place against the backdrop of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The coming-of-age thriller tells the story of a developing new friendship between two teenage girls from different backgrounds within the punk and skate world of West L.A. However, when one of the girls suddenly goes missing, two former detectives (Harrelson and Wilson) have their lives turned upside down.

Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson are both keeping pretty busy these days. Most recently, Harrelson can be seen starring in the MAX political thriller White House Plumbers opposite Justin Theroux. Up next, the Hollywood legend will star in Greg Berlanti’s highly anticipated Apple TV+ movie Project Artemis. Meanwhile, Owen Wilson joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Mobius in the Disney+ series Loki. Wilson will reprise the role in the upcoming third Deadpool film as well as feature in the ensemble cast of Disney’s latest Haunted Mansion adaptation.
