Woody Harrelson Joins Scarlett Johansson & Channing Tatum In ‘Project Artemis’

Last year, Apple TV+ took home the Oscar for Best Picture thanks to its distribution of the hit film CODA. Now, Apple Original Films continues to bolster its roster with a new film in the works titled Project Artemis. As first reported by Deadline, Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson is the latest name to join the film.
Harrelson joins Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum in the upcoming film. Additionally, the rather impressive ensemble also features Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg, and Christian Zuber as well. Arrow creator Greg Berlanti will direct the feature with a script from screenwriter Rose Gilroy. Berlanti replaces Ozark star Jason Bateman, who is parting ways with the film due to creative differences. Additionally, Scarlett Johansson will serve as the film’s executive producer alongside Jonathan Lia (Tower of Terror) and Keenan Flynn (Bride). Apple reportedly paid $100 million+ to acquire Project Artemis and will produce the venture alongside These Pictures Productions company.

Per the initial report, plot details for Project Artemis are being kept close to the chest for the time being. However, sources close to the film note that it will apparently take place during the historic space race between the Soviet Union and the United States.
Woody Harrelson is a three-time Academy Award nominee best known for his roles in films like The Hunger Games, Zombieland, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Up next, Harrelson will star alongside Justin Theroux and Domhnall Gleeson in the HBO miniseries White House Plumbers.
