Another star has joined the cast of Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated Dune: Part 2. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Blake Nelson has signed on to the film.
The star joins an already massive cast, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem, who will all reprise their roles from the first film. In addition, Dune: Part 2 will also feature newcomers Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, and Christopher Walken.
Tackling the second half of Frank Herbert’s celebrated 1965 novel, Chalamet’s Paul Atreides will team with the Fremen to liberate the planet of Arrakis from House Harkonnen. Nelson’s role in the film is currently being kept under wraps.
Villeneuve is returning to direct the sequel from a script he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts. Mary Parent, Villeneuve, Cale Boyter, Tanya Lapointe, and Patrick McCormick are all on board to produce the film.
