Deadline has reported that Léa Seydoux will be joining the already star-studded cast of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two as Lady Margot. In Frank Herbert’s novel, Margot, Lady Fenrig, is part of the Bene Gesserit and is sent by the sisterhood to seduce Feyd Rautha-Harkonnen to retrieve his genetic material. It was already announced that Elvis star Austin Butler will be portraying Feyd in the highly anticipated sequel, which will release exclusively in theatres on October 20, 2023.
Aside from Seydoux and Butler, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Florence Pugh, and Christopher Walken have already been confirmed to be a part of the cast. The script will be written by Denis Villeneuve and Jon Spiaths, who is coming back from the first film.
Léa Seydoux has been having a great past two years, starring in No Time to Die, and Bruno Dumont’s France, which have both received critical acclaim, particularly the latter for her performance in Dumont’s film. She also starred in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, and, more recently, in David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future, alongside Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart. She will next star in Mia Hansen-Løve’s One Fine Morning, Party of Fools, The Beast, and the latest adaptation of Emmanuelle as the titular character.
