Guy Ritchie Tapped To Helm Disney’s Live-Action ‘Hercules’ Film

Guy Ritchie is set to work on a new live-action film adaptation for Disney. According to Deadline, the Aladdin director has been tapped to helm Hercules for the studio.
The film is being produced by Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO production company. Currently, the studio is in the process of hiring writers, with Dave Callaham having written the first draft. No casting has been announced for the film given it is still early in development.

This is now Ritchie’s second project with Disney, as he directed the live-action Aladdin film starring Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, and Will Smith. He recently filmed an untitled action thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal that STX sold to MGM and Amazon. Additionally, he has wrapped up filming Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, which he wrote, directed, and executive produced, starring Jason Statham.
