With the season finale of Marvel’s latest Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel, airing its season finale this week, the studio is showing no signs of slowing down the canon content train. One series that continues to gain traction is the upcoming Ironheart series. Now, as first reported by Deadline, Solo star Alden Ehrenreich is the latest name to join the anticipated series.
Ehrenreich joins Dominique Thorne, who plays Riri Williams AKA Ironheart in the series. Additionally, In The Heights star Anthony Ramos and Westworld‘s Manny Montana will appear in the series as well in undisclosed roles. The show’s titular character was created in 2016 by writers Brian Michael Bendis, and artist Mike Deodato, and later redesigned by Eve Ewing and Kevin Libranda. First appearing in Invincible Iron Man #7 in 2016, she reverse-engineered Tony Stark’s armor and took on the mantle after he fell into a coma after a fight with Captain Marvel. Eventually, after Tony reclaimed the title of Iron Man, Riri took on the name Ironheart and became a member of the Champions.
Alden Ehrenreich rose to prominence when he portrayed Han Solo in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. Since then, multiple rumors have claimed Ehrenreich is likely to return as the character in future Star Wars projects. Up next, the actor will star in the star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Moreover, Ehrenreich will star alongside fellow Star Wars alums Keri Russell and O’Shea Jackson Jr. in Elizabeth Banks’s Cocaine Bear.
