Marvel Studios has added a new star to the cast of the upcoming Ironheart series on Disney+. According to Deadline, Manny Montana is set to star as a series regular opposite Dominique Thorne.
Ironheart, aka Riri Williams, is a relatively newer character, first appearing in Invincible Iron Man #7 in 2016. She reverse-engineered Tony Stark’s armor and took on the mantle after he fell into a coma after a fight with Captain Marvel. Eventually, after Tony reclaimed the title of Iron Man, Riri took on the name Ironheart and became a member of the Champions.
As of now, details about Montana’s role are being kept under wraps. The actor has starred in the NBC series Good Girls for four seasons. He also had a recurring role in the series Mayans MC and will appear in the upcoming season of Westworld.
The series will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. The series also stars Anthony Ramos and Lyric Ross. Chinaka Hodge has also signed on as the head writer of the series.
