‘This Is Us’ Star Lyric Ross Joins Cast Of Marvel’s ‘Ironheart’
Marvel Studios is still expanding the cast of their upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart. According to The Hollywood Reporter, This is Us actress Lyric Ross has joined the series.
Ross joins Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos, who were previously cast. Thorne is set to play the series lead Riri Willaims while Ramos’ role is being kept under wraps. However, some sources have reported he may be the show’s villain.
Ironheart, aka Riri Williams, is a relatively newer character, first appearing in Invincible Iron Man #7 in 2016. She reverse-engineered Tony Stark’s armor and took on the mantle after he fell into a coma after a fight with Captain Marvel. Eventually, after Tony reclaimed the title of Iron Man, Riri took on the name Ironheart and became a member of the Champions.
Ross is set to play Williams’ best friend, so she should have a significant role in the series. Besides This is Us, she has also appeared in other shows, including Sirens and Chicago Fire.
Chinaka Hodge has signed on as the head writer of the series. As of now, a premiere date for the show has not been set. However, Thorne’s Riri Williams will make her MCU debut in the highly anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
