Michaela Coel, John Turturro, & Paul Dano Join Donald Glover In Amazon’s ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ Series

Donald Glover is one of the most dynamic performers of the last few years. With a bevy of Grammy Award and Golden Globe wins, his stock is ever on the rise. Following the end of season three of his hit FX series Atlanta, Glover will next star in and produce a Mr. & Mrs. Smith series adaptation for Amazon Studios. As first reported by Variety, Glover will be joined by Michaela Coel, John Turturro, and Paul Dano in the new project.
The litany of A-Listers joins the previously cast Maya Erskine, who replaced Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Fargo writer Francesca Sloane is the co-creator of the series alongside Glover and Waller-Bridge. Additionally, New Regency will produce the series in collaboration with Amazon Studios.

Character details for the cast’s new additions are currently unknown. However, the series will reportedly follow John (Glover) and Jane (Erskine) as they work for a mysterious spy agency. The couple must learn to navigate their jobs, their marriage, and learning how to better communicate with one another.
Michaela Coel is the creator, writer, co-director, and executive producer of the hit HBO series I May Destroy You, for which she earned an Emmy Award. Up next, the multi-talented actress will join the MCU in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Meanwhile, it appears Mr. & Mrs. Smith will serve as a reunion of sorts for The Batman stars John Turturro and Paul Dano. Turturro will next star in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio while Dano will star opposite Adam Sandler in Johan Renck’s Spaceman.
