Cameron Diaz & Jamie Foxx To Star In Netflix Comedy ‘Back In Action’

Despite making headlines back in 2017 claiming she was retiring from acting, it appears actress Cameron Diaz is ready to make a big comeback. As first reported by Deadline, Diaz will star in a new action-comedy for Netflix that is appropriately titled Back In Action.
Per the initial report, Diaz will star in the film with Jamie Foxx. Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) will direct the feature from a script he penned along with Brenden O’Brien (Neighbors). Foxx will executive produce the series alongside Beau Bauman (Central Intelligence) and Datari Turner (Video Girl).

In a conversation posted on Twitter, Diaz expresses both excitement and nervousness to return to her old gig.

Diaz is the recipient of multiple accolades, including nominations for four Golden Globe Awards, a BAFTA Award, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Best known for her roles in films like Vanilla Sky and Charlie’s Angels, Diaz last appeared on the big screen in the 2014 remake of the musical comedy Annie. Recently, Foxx led the cast of his own comedy series for Netflix titled Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!. Last year, the actor voiced the main character in Pixar’s latest Oscar-winning film, Soul. Additionally, the Ray star will next play the titular antihero role in Todd McFarlane’s upcoming Spawn reboot.
