The enigmatic Kristen Stewart is fresh off the heels of a run at the Oscars for her stellar work as Princess Diana in Spencer. Now, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart is joining forces with cinematic powerhouse studio A24 for a new romantic drama.
The film, titled Love Lies Bleeding, hails from Saint Maud director Rose Glass. Glass also co-wrote the script along with Weronika Tofilska (Love Life). Per the initial report, the romance film takes place in the competitive world of bodybuilding. However, Stewart will not be playing the lead character, a female bodybuilder, in the film. Instead, Stewart will portray the bodybuilder’s protective lover.

A24 is backing the project in collaboration with Film4, Lobo Films, and Escape Plan Productions. Additionally, Andrea Cornwell (The Essex Serpent) and Oliver Kassman (Saint Maud) are already on board as the film’s executive producers.
Long gone are the days of Kristen Stewart starring in the cult classic franchise, The Twilight Saga. Outside of her award-worthy work in Spencer, Kristen Stewart’s recent work included memorable turns in hit films like Underwater, the Charlie’s Angels reboot, and Hulu’s Happiest Season. Up next, Kristen Stewart will star in David Cronenberg’s upcoming horror film Crimes of the Future alongside Viggo Mortensen and Léa Seydoux.
