Megan Thee Stallion, Nathan Lane, & Bowen Yang To Star In A24’s First Musical ‘F*cking Identical Twins’

After years of putting out quality content, it appears A24 is branching out and getting into the musical game. As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the studio will produce a new musical comedy starring a host of incredibly talented performers including Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion in her big-screen debut.
The rapper, real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, will join Broadway veteran Nathan Lane in the film’s ensemble cast. Additionally, Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang and Will & Grace‘s Megan Mullally will appear in the film as well. The R-rated musical comedy, titled F*cking Identical Twins, is currently in production with Borat director Larry Charles at the helm. Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp penned the screenplay, an adaption of their stage show with the same name.

F*cking Identical Twins follows two longtime business adversaries. However, after spending so much time at odds with each other, they realize they are identical twin brothers. Upon this realization, they decide to go full Parent Trap in order to reunite their estranged parents and put their family back together again.
At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, Megan Thee Stallion became the second female rapper to win Best New Artist, after Lauryn Hill in 1999. She also touts a win for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “Savage (Remix)” alongside Beyoncé. Last year, she signed a first-look deal with Netflix to create content for the streaming service. Meanwhile, Nathan Lane is one of the greatest to ever do it. Thanks to memorable roles in films like The Lion King and The Producers, his legacy is solidified. Up next, Lane will reprise his role as Teddy Dimas in season two of Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building. Bowen Yang gives memorable performances weekly on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. However, the multitalented actor will expand his resume with roles in upcoming films The Lost City and Bros.
