Ana De Armas Joins Chris Evans in Apple’s ‘Ghosted’

For the time being, Marvel fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Avengers co-stars Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson in the same picture. However, Knives Out appreciators, you’re in luck.
According to Deadline, Ana de Armas will star alongside Evans in an Apple original film, titled Ghosted, following Johansson’s exit. According to the report, Apple will begin production on the film no later than February 2022. Notably, when you look at Johansson’s upcoming roles in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City and Sebastián Lelio’s Bride, her departure from Apple’s film seems all the more reasonable.

For de Armas and Evans, though, this marks the third on-screen collaboration between the pair following the runaway-hit that was Rian Johnson’s star-studded whodunnit, Knives Out. Details on the project’s plot are scarce at this time. However, it will reportedly offer action and romance, so de Armas-Evans shippers are getting their fill, again. The two will next star in Anthony & Joe Russo’s full tilt-espionage flick, The Gray Man, which wrapped production this past summer.
Ghosted is also in trusted hands behind the camera, as the film will serve as Dexter Fletcher’s first directorial outing since his Elton John bio-musical, Rocketman. The English director teams with one of Hollywood’s most sought-out writing teams, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The screenwriting duos’ previous scripted efforts have nabbed them over $2.2 billion in box office receipts.
