Kathryn Hahn To Portray Joan Rivers In Showtime’s Limited Series ‘The Comeback Girl’

Kathryn is on the run of her career recently. Following a nomination at this year’s Emmy Awards for her work in Wandavision, the actress is lining up her next big starring role on TV. As first reported by Variety, Hahn will portray comedy icon Joan Rivers in a new biographical series in the works at Showtime.
Per the initial report, the series, titled The Comeback Girl, hails from Warner Bros. Television, Atlas Entertainment, and Berlanti Productions. Hahn will serve as an executive producer on the series in addition to her starring role. She is joined by Greg Berlanti (Arrow), who will also direct the limited series. Moreover, Cosmo Carlson (Time Lost) penned the series based on the life of Joan Rivers. Check out the logline for The Comeback Girl below.

Joan Rivers is considered a pioneer of women in comedy. Rivers’ career began in comedy clubs alongside her peers George Carlin and Richard Pryor. She then rose to prominence in 1965 as a guest on The Tonight Show, hosted by Johnny Carson. In 1986, Rivers became the first woman to host a late-night network television talk show with the Late Show with Joan Rivers. From there, Rivers hosted a bevy of shows like Fashion Police as well as the reality series Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?. Sadly, Joan Rivers passed away in 2014.
n addition to her role as Agatha in Marvel’s WandaVision, Kathryn Hahn appears in the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Moreover, the actress will next continue her relationship with Apple TV in The Shrink Next Door, opposite Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd after last appearing in the streaming service’s animated musical comedy series Central Park. Additionally, Hahn also touts a critically acclaimed role alongside Mark Ruffalo in HBO’s I Know This Much Is True. Up next, Hahn is among those cast in the ensemble of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out 2.
