Jason Segel, Lily Collins, & Jesse Plemons To Star In Netflix’s ‘Windfall’
Over the last few years, Netflix has gone from a streaming service filled with beloved shows like The Office to a full-on juggernaut of a movie studio. With record-breaking Oscar and Emmy nominations for its original content, Netflix is showing zero signs of slowing down in the near future. As first reported by Deadline, the studio is enlisting the services of Jason Segel, Lily Collins, and Jesse Plemons for a new movie titled Windfall.
The One I Love director Charlie McDowell will helm the feature with a script by Andrew Kevin Walker (SE7EN). However, the film’s concept stems from an idea conceived by Jason Segel and Justin Lader (Fighting Jacob). Jason Segel will executive produce the film alongside his co-stars Collins and Plemons. Additionally, Alex Orlovsky (Half Nelson), Duncan Montgomery (Silk Road), and David Duque Estrada (What’s Your Number) will produce as well.
Per the initial report, the film will be a suspenseful thriller inspired by Alfred Hitchcock. The plot follows a young couple as they arrive at their vacation home. However, the vacation is turned upside down as they realize it is being robbed.
The new venture only strengthens Lily Collins’ relationship with Netflix after last appearing in Mank and Emily in Paris for the streamer. Up next, the actress will lead the cast for Anthony Lucero’s Halo of Stars. Meanwhile, Jesse Plemons recently turned in an incredible performance in Judas and the Black Messiah. Up next, the multitalented performer will star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorcese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Best known for his comedic roles in films like I Love You, Man, Jason Segel’s career includes various screenwriting and producing credit as well. Segel most recently stars in the AMC anthology series Dispatches From Nowhere.
